About SerenAI
SerenAI was not started by developers who decided to build apps. It was started by someone who had been using them for over a decade and had grown tired of how many of them get it wrong.
Where this started
Since 2011, we have been users of apps and software across almost every area of daily life. For most of that time, something has bothered us, the people building these tools often seem more interested in features, frameworks and funding than in the experience of the person actually using them. Apps that are cluttered. Software that takes three steps to do one thing. Tools that feel like they were designed in a boardroom rather than tested in the real world.
We noticed this gap for years. The difference between software built by people who care about the user and software built by people who have simply never had to be one. It is a gap that shows up immediately — in how something feels to use, in where the friction is, in whether it respects your time or wastes it.
Why now
For a long time, actually doing something about it felt out of reach. Building software required large teams, significant funding and deep technical expertise. That world belonged to corporations and well-funded start-ups, not to people who simply had a clear idea and the drive to pursue it.
AI changed that. Not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool that genuinely levels the playing field. It has made it possible for people who think deeply about problems — who understand what users actually need — to build the software they always wished existed. SerenAI exists because that door finally opened and we walked through it.
Who we are
SerenAI is a small, independent company. It is the two of us — a husband and wife working on something we genuinely believe in. There is no large team, no corporate structure and no outside investors telling us what to build. That means every decision comes back to one question: is this actually good for the person using it?
We think that matters. Some of the best products in the world were built by small groups of people who cared more about getting it right than about moving fast. We would rather take the time to build something we are proud of than ship something that adds to the noise.
What we believe
Good software should feel effortless. It should do exactly what you need it to do, without making you think harder than necessary. Simplicity is not a design trend — it is a sign that someone genuinely thought about the person on the other side of the screen.
We believe AI works best when it is invisible — when it quietly makes something smarter or faster without demanding attention. We are not interested in building tools that show off. We are interested in building tools that work.
What we are working on
We are focussed on mobile software — apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and WordPress — built around real-world use rather than theoretical requirements. We are drawn to problems that affect how people work day to day and to the places where a well-designed app could genuinely make life easier.
We have something in development that we are excited about. We are not ready to talk about it yet and that is deliberate. When it is ready, it will speak for itself.
