Data Controller

The Data Controller responsible for your information is SerenAI Ltd. We determine the purposes and methods of processing any personal data collected through this App.

Overview

Track Day Fun is a local-first application. The vast majority of your data never leaves your device. Below is a full description of every category of data the app may access or store.

Information You Enter

When you set up and use the app, you may provide the following information directly:

  • Driver names and nicknames.
  • Vehicle details including make, model, engine size, and year.
  • Session notes and weather conditions.

This information is stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s standard local storage (UserDefaults and local files). It is never uploaded to our servers.

Location Data

The app requests access to your device location while the app is in use, solely to provide the following features:

  • GPS lap timing — your location is used to detect when your vehicle crosses the virtual start/finish line.
  • Speed measurement — GPS speed data powers the acceleration timer and live speed display.
  • Circuit recording — GPS coordinates are recorded to trace the shape of the circuit on a map.

All location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party. You can disable location access at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Track Day Fun.

Accelerometer and G-Force Data

The app uses your device’s motion sensors to record G-force and acceleration data during sessions. This data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted anywhere.

Face ID

The app uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework to verify your identity using Face ID before confirming permanent data deletions. We do not access, store, or transmit your biometric data at any time. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS.

iCloud Key-Value Storage

The app uses Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage solely to remember how many free acceleration timer runs you have used. This prevents the free trial from resetting if you delete and reinstall the app on the same Apple ID. This value is stored in your personal iCloud account and is never accessible to SerenAI Ltd. No other app data is sent to iCloud or any server.

Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Track Day Fun offers annual subscriptions processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. SerenAI Ltd does not handle, store, or have access to any payment or financial information. All transactions are governed by Apple’s privacy policy. You can restore a previous purchase at any time using the Restore Purchase button in the app.

Free Trial

The app provides a limited number of free acceleration timer runs before a subscription is required. The limit is clearly stated before it applies. No payment is taken automatically — a purchase is only made if you choose to subscribe.

Third-Party Services

Track Day Fun uses only Apple’s own frameworks. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are used.

  • Apple CoreLocation — for GPS lap timing and circuit recording.
  • Apple CoreMotion — for G-force and accelerometer data.
  • Apple MapKit — to display maps for setting the start/finish line.
  • Apple StoreKit — to process subscriptions.
  • Apple iCloud Key-Value Storage — to track free trial usage only.
  • Apple LocalAuthentication (Face ID) — to confirm data deletions.

Data Track Day Fun Does NOT Collect

Track Day Fun does not collect, process, or store any of the following:

  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any tracking identifiers.
  • Behavioural analytics or usage telemetry.
  • Your name, email address, or personal identity.
  • Any data that can identify you to SerenAI Ltd as a company.

We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your data to any third party under any circumstances, except to Apple Inc. in connection with App Store subscription billing as described above.

Data Retention and Deletion

You are in full control of your data. You can delete all app data at any time from the Settings screen within the app. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data from your device.

Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

We process personal data under the following legal bases as defined by the UK GDPR:

  • Contractual necessity — data is required to provide app functionality such as storing your lap times and session records.
  • Legitimate interest — to manage free trial limits fairly and prevent abuse.

International Data Transfers

All app data is stored locally on your device. Because no app data is transferred to our servers, no cross-border data transfers take place in relation to your in-app data. iCloud Key-Value Storage (used only for trial tracking) is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and data transfer practices.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • The right to request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • The right to restrict processing or object to data use in certain circumstances.
  • The right to request a copy of your data in a portable format.

As all your data is stored locally on your device, most of these rights are best exercised directly within the app. To exercise any right in relation to data held by SerenAI Ltd, please contact us via our contact page. We will respond within 30 days as required by law.

Children’s Privacy

Track Day Fun is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us via our contact page and we will take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect legal changes or new features added to the app. Any updates will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
